It is possible that the # 36336 hitch you have bent slightly in shipping. We see this happen occasionally and since that rear bracket is a separate piece from the bracket in front of it could have easily bent in or out.
What you can do is try bending the hitch back slightly to get the hole to line up. As long as there is no paint flaking or creases in the metal you would be fine. view full answer...
Both the Draw-Tite # 36336 and the Curt # C12339 will essentially have the same ground clearance. When we installed the Curt option on a 2005 Toyota Camry we found the distance from the ground to the top of the inside of the receiver opening to measure 11-1/2". When we installed the Draw-Tite option on a 2006 Camry we found that same measurement to be 11-3/4". For the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36336 on your 2005 Lexus ES 330 if the 3rd hole on the drivers side frame rail has a threaded weld nut you will not use the u-bolt to secure the receiver. The manufacturer instructions which I have linked below addresses these particular vehicles in step 4.
They state " 4. If existing weldnut is present in location shown above, omit U-Bolt and use existing weldnut and optional fastener."

The Draw-Tite # 36336 is a custom fit hitch that is designed to fit on the frame of your vehicle, but there are no holes already drilled in the frame on the 2004 Lexus ES 300 to install a hitch on, so you will have to drill your own regardless of what trailer hitch you installed.
